Audit deadline for telcos extended

MUMBAI: DoT has extended till March-end the deadline for special auditors of four telcos — Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices and Bharti Airtel — to submit their final reports. The earlier deadline was February 7.
While Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have been told to submit their final reports by February 28, the deadline for Tata Teleservices is March-end.
The auditors have been asked to employ additional resources to meet the deadlines.Vijayalaxmi K Gupta, member finance, DoT, called a meeting of the special auditors on February 4 ‘‘to gauge the progress of the audit and stressed on the urgency to finalise the audit," sources said.
